Cricket at the KGV Boys and Girls Clubs

Cricket was the sport on the agenda at the King George V After School Clubs for Boys and Girls at KGV Park in Dumfries this week.

Chris Stewart, the DG Community Coach, was there to deliver cricket to those signed up to the nine weeks of sports activity organised by Active Schools.

Monday was the Girls Club, Tuesday it was the P4 to P7 Boys Club, and on Wednesday it was the turn of P1-P3 boys. Overall this targetted cricket at over one hundred local primary school children.

The post of local community coach is part-financed by the Scottish Government and the European Community, Dumfries and Galloway Leader 2007-2013 programme and is also supported by Cricket Scotland, Dumfries and Galloway Council’s Leisure and Sport department, and local cricket clubs.
