This was Langholm’s second year in the competition and Dumfries High School’s first and that difference in experience told as they won scoring 136 for 2 off their 20 overs, whilst Dumfries High were all out for 57 in 18.1 overs.
The next round gives Langholm a home tie against either Airdrie Academy or Lomond House. For most of the enthusiastic Dumfries High School team this was literally their first match out in the middle and marks a revival of the High School cricket team that used to play locally in a schools league.
The aim is for more such matches against more local school opposition.
