DG U13s warm-up against the Borders

The Dumfries & Galloway regional under 13 team started their season on Sunday at Hawick against a Borders’ XI. It was the first of two warm-up games for both sides’ respective area championships and it was the Borders who came out on top. They looked a better side in most aspects of the game and emphasised to the D&G boys how much work they need to do – just on the basics of the game.

On the plus side Todd Rafferty and Callum Bell got decent scores and Fraser Strachan looked like one for the future. Ross Rae bowled well after initial nerves and Chris McBride looked impressive in his first 3 overs.

The team should be fired up to make more of an impression in the return match in a fortnight’s time.
