New Community Coach for Dumfries and Galloway

Cricket Scotland in partnership with Dumfries and Galloway Council and the Dumfries and Galloway Cricket Development Group has appointed Chris Stewart to the newly created role of Community Cricket Coach.

The new post created with funding from the Rural Dumfries & Galloway LEADER Programme will deliver coaching sessions to local schools, organise local competitions and assist Club coaches develop their sessions.

Chris a Level 2 Coach from Langholm is just completing his Cricket Development Apprenticeship (SVQ) with Cricket Scotland and takes up his post on May 5th. Of his appointment Chris says “I want to give everyone the chance to play cricket in Dumfries and Galloway and see strong links between schools and clubs as important. It is key that youngsters get the chance to play club cricket and I would especially like to see more girls playing cricket in the area “.
